AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THIS QUALIFICATION
The aim of this qualification is to prepare learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years
ENTRY REQUIREMENT
You must be 19+ and working or volunteering in childcare, complete and assessment in English, maths and ICT Attend classes twice a week choices of daytime 10 – 12 or evening 7pm – 9pm

Course Duration: 6-8 Months
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- Working in childcare
- Complete a Maths and English assessment at Level 1 or 2
- Complete a placement in a nursery that facilitates children from 6months up to 5
- Attend classes twice a week choices of daytime 10 – 1 or evening 7pm – 9pm
MANDATORY UNITS
The qualification has 23 mandatory units and the following four themes:
Theme 1: Health and well-being
Theme 2: Legislation, frameworks and professional practice
Theme 3: Play, development and learning for school readiness

FUNDING
Advanced Learning Loan
If you are aged 19 or above, you may qualify for an Advanced Learning Loan to help pay for your course fees. Most learners aged 19 and over, studying at Level 3 or Level 4, will qualify for these loans from the UK government. It’s easy to apply, your household income isn’t taken into account and there’s no credit check. You won’t have to pay anything back until your income is over £25,000 a year!

Upon achievement of this qualification learners will gain their licence to practise and it is intended that learners will be able to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators. Learners can progress into various job roles in the statutory, voluntary or private sectors such as:
- Assistant in Children’s Centres
- Practitioner in nursery schools
- Practitioner in reception classes in primary schools
- Pre-school worker
